that luxury sweatshirt.
The beloved sweatshirt is here to stay, the staple in everyone's wadrobe is a keeper, from preppy high school kids, coffin dodgers to new york fashionistas everybody's wearing them. Balenciaga took it back to the 80's with vintage va va voom. Ghesquiere kept things graphic and oversized bringing back echoed vibes of power dressing. Celine takes an ultra cool spin on a modern sweatshirt injecting tons of colour to really make a statement. Topshop played with the cut creating a mullet hem, while also using a python print added some tropical heat to the AW12 season.

Whatcha waiting for?
I cannot stop singing Put Cha Back in it by Dj Slink. It is literally the best song in my life right now. The Alexander Wang SS13 show was undoubtedly my favourite show of the whole season, second to Luis Vuitton. I sat at my laptop watching the live stream trying not to blink while head bopping to the A-mazing soundtrack. It was like I was at a club, if I was at the show I would so be twerking! Hahahaha.
A minimalist aesthetic was definitely apparent throughout the show. As austerity was the inspiration for Wang this season the mostly monochrome palette tied hand in hand with the idea that less is more. The very boxy shapes stood out to me the most, with unique intricate lazer cut details spicing things up. The collection was strong, powerful, quite militaristic and feminine without an ounce of pink...I love a good juxtaposition.
The finale was unparalleled to none....a glow in the dark moment, like do i need to repeat myself?

Suprise Suprise.
Photographs Agi and Sam
Guess who’s back? Yeah I know it’s been a while. I’ve been so busy, with moving
house, having an operation, finishing final exams...preparing to go ‘off’ to
uni...bore bore bore.
This year has been jammed packed full of all things British
from the Diamond Jubilee to (the greatest ever) Olympics. This summer has been one I’ll never
forget. I recently went holidaying in the Rivera....erm thats the English
Riviera by the way...(Google it). This holiday was a memorable one, well I shan't call it a
holiday it was more of a ‘Natural Vacation’ in those terms I went camping. Me staying
in a tent? I’m not sure how I survived. It wasn’t as bad as i’m making it out
to sound (i’m lying it was) the sea was so relaxing! It was one of the funniest
trips I’ve had since last going camping FOUR years ago and getting chased by a wild horse...yeah I’ll leave it there.
On a brighter note one of the nominees for the emerging
talent in menswear Agi and Sam have taken the British fashion scene by storm in
recent months, creating cool and innovative designs. The brand known for their ‘print
on print’ action have taken risk after risk in producing something very strong
and captivating.
For me these designs are something that immediately grip your
attention ....(trust me i do get very excited by clothes...). The loud prints and sharp tailoring allow pieces to become both timeless and youthful their something both me and my Granddad could wear. The
cuts in some of the garments, especially the jackets I thought veered almost to
hoodism reflecting a strong street element but the chalky colours balance out the edge
which make all the pieces very wearable.

me likey.
As i was flicking through the sale pages of oki-ni, my eyes stumbled (literally) on this amazing asymmetric jacket by Australian brand Chronicles Of Never. I love the rich "chocolatey" tone contrasted with the black and brown leather detailing on the arm. The tapered jacket kind of juxtaposes smartness while having a rock and roll edge, reminding me of army wear. Sadly I didn't buy it, i was waiting until it went down in sale then.....the awkward moment when it sells out :( Up and Out.DD

Hey guys! Thank god it's Friday, this week has been so busy, next week's gonna be even busier! I've got an Interview at a University... i won't say where just in case i don't get in...that would be awkward. LOL and it's fashion week. Anyway on the fashion front i made the shirt in the photographs above for my A-level photography coursework. Tie-die is amazing. I'm not sure if i'm brave enough to wear the shirt out. It photographs so well tho. I nagged my friend to be my model well it wasn't really a nag, he didn't have a choice. Anyway till next time. Up and Out.DD
